Choosing the correct size tablecloth for a round table can be difficult if you’ve never done it before. The advice and sizing chart below will help you to choose the best size of round tablecloth for your round table.

The majority of tables in the United Kingdom fall within four sizes:- 4ft, 5ft, 5 1/2ft and 6ft. The table below shows the most popular sizes of round tablecloth used to achieve different effects.

Smaller tablecloths can be used as slip cloths. This is where a smaller table cloth sits on top of a larger tablecloth. Different sizes of slip cloth and tablecloth can be used to create different effects. A square slip cloth is often used over a larger round tablecloth to create a fine dining effect.

Note that some allowance should be made for manufacturing tolerances and also for shrinkage after washing. Shrinkage can occur over the first few washes from new and the normal allowances made are approximately 2% shrinkage for Spun Polyester/Polycotton and approximately 6% shrinkage for Cotton.
