Table Linen - Table Skirting
Table Skirting
Table skirting is one way of adding material around the edges of a table to create a drop to the floor for a fine dining or banqueting look. It is very useful with long or awkward shaped tables. The table skirting us secured to the table using table clips which secure to te table and have hooks to which the skirting attaches. The skirting has eyes stitched onto the back to allow the skirting to attach and be hung from th etable top in much the same way as a curtain hangs on clips from a curtain rail.
The use of table skirting can be tidier than using a large tablecloth with a drop to the floor, and can also be a more cost effective method to create the same look. It also allows the use of existing smaller tablecloths or such effects as the use of different colour skirting and tablecloth. The results of using skirting can be quite stunning and this is a technique used regularly for banqueting, fine dining and larger events such as weddings. Dressing the head table at a wedding where the head table is displayed on a raised platform is the classic use for table skirting.
